Chess Class: "From Beginner to Intermediate"

Is your young chess player interested in getting beyond the basics? Do they know how the pieces move, the value of the pieces, and the difference between check and checkmate? If you answered yes, and your child wants to take the next steps to improve their game by learning basic strategies and tactics, than this class is the class for him or her!

 

From Beginner to Intermediate will teach your child the following:

Chess class (Kindergarten – grade 8)

Twin Cities Chess Club is now at the JCC! Classes are offered for students of all ages and chess levels. Make new friends, improve your skill-set, increase your IQ and impress your opponents. Learn from experienced teachers. End of class session chess tournament for all participants.

Potluck/BBQ Picnic for Chess Players and Families

Dear chess players/families/coaches,
We would like to invite all chess players, their families, coaches and friends to attend a potluck/BBQ picnic organized by parent volunteers to enjoy a pleasant Minnesota Summer afternoon, socialize and have some fun (casual chess, your favorite sports, etc.)!

Eden Prairie Scholastic Chess Championship

The EP Scholastic Chess Championship was decided Friday, March 5th at Central Middle School.

 

In the Elementary Championship, there was a three way tie for first place between Winston C, Elijah F, and Turner G. After tie-breaks, Winston was first, Elijah second, and Turner third.

 

In the Primary Championship, Connor B. took first place, Ava M. second, and Blaine B third after a tie-break game against Amogh K. who finished 4th.

 

Congratulations to all who participated!
